UAE Leaders Honor Teachers’ Contributions on World Teachers’ Day

On World Teachers’ Day, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan honored educators for their significant role in shaping the future and contributing to the nation’s development. Sheikh Mohamed shared a personal photograph from 1971, depicting himself as a 10-year-old alongside a thank-you note he wrote to his teacher, Ahmad Ibrahim Mandi. The President emphasized the profound impact teachers have on students and society, acknowledging their enduring influence.

Joining in the tribute, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum commended teachers for their vital role in developing the country’s human capital and guiding future generations. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan highlighted the pivotal importance of education in the UAE’s progress, noting that teachers are instrumental in building the knowledge, confidence, and ambition of young people.

UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan also recognized the crucial contributions of teachers to the nation’s advancement, particularly in promoting knowledge and preparing future generations. Education Minister Sarah Al Amiri echoed these sentiments, stressing the central role educators play in achieving the UAE’s long-term educational and developmental objectives.

World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5, serves as a reminder to appreciate the dedication and hard work of teachers worldwide. The UAE’s leadership used this occasion to express gratitude and support for educators, underlining their essential role in society and the country’s growth.
