Rain and Strong Winds Forecast for UAE Amid Rising Temperatures

Published:

The United Arab Emirates is set to experience a mix of weather conditions this week, with rain, strong winds, and dust expected to impact various regions. On Wednesday, parts of the UAE could see wind speeds of up to 50 km/h in inland and mountainous areas, while temperatures may soar to 41°C in these regions. Blowing dust is likely to reduce visibility in some locations.

Overall, the weather will remain fair to partly cloudy, with the development of convective clouds over eastern areas. These clouds are anticipated to spread to inland and western regions by the afternoon, potentially bringing rainfall as low-pressure systems affect the country. Winds will predominantly blow from the southeast to northeast at speeds of 10–25 km/h, intensifying during cloud formation. In coastal areas and islands, wind speeds could reach up to 35 km/h, with temperatures ranging from 34°C to 38°C along the coast and 26°C to 32°C in mountainous areas.

Humidity is expected to rise overnight into Thursday morning, reaching up to 90% in some parts, which could lead to mist or fog, especially in coastal and inland locations. The Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman are forecast to experience slight sea conditions.

Unsettled weather is projected to continue on Thursday, with clouds forming over eastern and western regions of the UAE, offering another chance of rain. Winds could reach speeds of 40 km/h, occasionally accompanied by blowing dust. The pattern of partly cloudy skies is expected to persist into Friday, with a possibility of afternoon rain in eastern areas. Increased humidity might result in fog or mist during the overnight hours and into Saturday morning.

As the weekend approaches, temperatures are expected to gradually decline. Saturday may see the formation of convective clouds over eastern and northern areas, while Sunday is forecast to remain generally fair to partly cloudy. Humid conditions are likely to continue overnight into Monday morning, sustaining the potential for fog or mist.

The weather forecast indicates that Wednesday and Thursday present the highest likelihood of rainfall, followed by more settled conditions, cooler temperatures, and recurring risks of fog or mist over the weekend.
