In a display of religious unity and leadership, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan joined senior leaders, officials, and worshippers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday morning for Eid Al Adha prayers. The gathering marked the start of the significant religious festival, as the president and those present exchanged greetings following the prayers.
During the Eid sermon, Dr. Omar Al Darei, leading the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat, highlighted the crucial role of honesty in fostering trust, national unity, and social stability. He commended the UAE leadership’s efforts in fortifying the nation through a commitment to unity and national interests. Alongside Sheikh Mohamed were prominent figures such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed.
As part of the religious observance, the UAE President, together with the worshippers, recited Al Fatiha to honor the memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. This moment of reflection and reverence was echoed across the Emirates, where rulers and senior leaders participated in Eid prayers at major mosques, joining citizens and residents in the celebrations.
In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed performed the prayers at Zabeel Grand Mosque, while in Sharjah, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi joined the congregation at Sharjah Mosque. Similar gatherings took place in Ajman with Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi at Al Zaher Palace Mosque, and in Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi prayed at Sheikh Zayed Mosque.
Further unity was observed in Umm Al Quwain, where Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla offered prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque, and in Ras Al Khaimah, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi joined worshippers at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque. These ceremonies across the UAE brought together thousands, marking a unified start to the Eid Al Adha celebrations.
