The UAE Urban Search and Rescue team has once again achieved the highest international rating awarded by the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG), an entity affiliated with the United Nations. This marks the third time the team, part of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, has received the prestigious “heavy” classification, highlighting its consistent excellence in emergency preparedness and disaster response.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan extended his congratulations to the team, commending their professionalism, dedication, and readiness to tackle crises. He emphasized that this recognition not only underscores the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian values but also enhances the nation’s global reputation in disaster management.
The UAE’s achievement reflects its ability to respond swiftly and effectively to both domestic and international emergencies, showcasing its leadership in the field of disaster response. The retention of the “heavy” classification is a testament to the team’s rigorous training and operational capabilities.
The ceremony celebrating this accomplishment was held at Qasr Al Bahr Palace and attended by distinguished figures, including Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, along with other senior officials and guests. This event further highlighted the significance of the team’s achievement on both a national and international stage.
