Ajman Pioneers Agentic AI in UAE for Trade License Renewal Process

Published:

Ajman has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first government entity in the UAE to renew a trade licence using agentic artificial intelligence. This development is part of the country’s broader digital transformation initiative. The system, crafted by the Department of Digital Ajman, is designed to automate the entire process of renewing trade licences. It seamlessly identifies customer needs, coordinates necessary approvals, and navigates procedures across various government departments with minimal human assistance.

The initial phase of this groundbreaking initiative targets the renewal of trade licences through Ajman’s Department of Economic Development. Customers are alerted automatically before their licences are due to expire, allowing them to complete the renewal process via the AjmanOne government app. For those needing a commercial lease renewal, the system is integrated with the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, ensuring a smooth and automatic completion of the licence renewal process.

This move is aligned with the UAE’s broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into public services. The federal government of the UAE has ambitious plans to have AI agents deliver half of all government services within the next two years. As part of this strategy, thousands of public sector employees are being trained in advanced AI technologies to support this transition.

The use of AI in streamlining government processes like trade licence renewals is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to embracing technological advancements. By reducing the need for human intervention, these AI-driven services aim to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction, setting a new benchmark for government operations in the region. With Ajman leading the way, it is anticipated that other emirates will follow suit, further propelling the UAE into a new era of digital governance.
