Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has implemented significant traffic diversions around Al Safah and City Walk, as part of extensive road development efforts. The diversions affect both Al Satwa Street and Al Multaqa Street, aiming to maintain traffic flow and improve access during the ongoing construction in the City Walk area.
These changes are a component of the broader Al Safa Street development project, which is designed to enhance road connectivity and alleviate congestion in the vicinity. This initiative is part of Dubai’s ambitious plan to bolster its infrastructure, with a Dh2 billion investment aimed at linking key roads across the emirate.
A major aspect of this infrastructure project is the Latifa bint Hamdan corridor, which extends over 12 kilometers. Upon completion, it will connect several vital routes, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Al Meydan Street, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Emirates Road.
Scheduled for completion by the end of 2028, the upgraded corridor will feature seven bridges spanning 2.3 kilometers, along with eight tunnels covering 900 meters. This infrastructure upgrade is anticipated to accommodate more than 16,000 vehicles per hour in both directions, significantly easing traffic flow and improving travel efficiency across Dubai.
