Sheikh Mohamed Urges Peace in Kuwait After Iranian Missile Strikes

Published:

In a call for heightened peace and stability within the region, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Kuwait shortly after it faced missile and drone attacks from Iran. This official visit, marked by discussions with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace, focused on bolstering regional security and fostering lasting peace. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and explored opportunities for expanding economic and developmental partnerships.

The visit came on the heels of a significant security incident where Kuwait’s air defenses successfully intercepted a series of ballistic missiles, a cruise missile, and several drones launched from Iran. Despite the interceptions, debris fell across several areas, resulting in one person being injured and causing material damage. The Kuwaiti government has strongly condemned these attacks, labeling them a breach of its sovereignty and a threat to the security of the region.

Kuwait’s authorities have made it clear that they reserve the right to respond to these violations in accordance with international law, ensuring the protection of their territory. The government’s stance highlights a commitment to taking any necessary measures to safeguard its land and citizens from further threats.

In a show of regional solidarity, the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs also denounced the attacks on Kuwait, as well as Bahrain, reaffirming its support for both nations. The UAE expressed its dedication to assisting efforts that aim to secure and stabilize the region, underscoring the importance of unity in facing such challenges.
