The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is actively participating in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meetings in Bahrain to enhance regional industrial cooperation and boost supply-chain resilience. Led by Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, the UAE delegation is engaging in discussions aimed at creating new opportunities for investment and partnerships within the region.
The meetings, taking place from October 6 to 8, coincide with the Made in GCC Forum and Exhibition 2026. They focus on fostering industrial integration among GCC countries, utilizing advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, and increasing private-sector involvement in regional industrial projects. The goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of Gulf industries by combining capabilities across the GCC and developing more integrated regional value chains.
During the gatherings, UAE companies are showcasing national products and industrial technologies, creating avenues for cooperation in manufacturing, technology, investment, and supply chains. The discussions are also addressing topics such as industrial financing, innovation, infrastructure, and enhancing supply-chain resilience. Several memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed between UAE entities and GCC companies to expand industrial partnerships.
The discussions emphasize the role of advanced technology and artificial intelligence in improving industrial productivity and competitiveness. Furthermore, the UAE’s industrial exports reached Dh260 billion in 2025, with Dh92 billion in medium- and high-technology industrial exports, underscoring the country’s industrial growth and export capabilities.
The National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme has significantly contributed to the UAE economy by redirecting more than Dh473 billion to support local companies and strengthen domestic supply chains. This initiative aligns with the UAE’s broader efforts to build stronger industrial links across the GCC and develop a more integrated and competitive regional industrial sector.
