This week, the UAE is bracing for a significant increase in temperatures, with some areas in Abu Dhabi potentially experiencing scorching highs of up to 48°C. The peak of this heatwave is anticipated on Thursday, particularly affecting regions such as Mezaira, Gasyoura, and Al Quaa within the Abu Dhabi emirate. Meanwhile, the city of Abu Dhabi itself is expected to see temperatures reaching around 43°C.
In contrast, Dubai is set to enjoy slightly cooler conditions, with forecasts predicting a high of 40°C also on Thursday. Despite the lower temperatures compared to Abu Dhabi, the rise marks a notable shift from a spring season characterized by relatively mild and occasionally unstable weather patterns.
Recently, temperatures in various parts of the UAE have consistently surpassed 40°C, indicating the imminent arrival of summer. This transition is expected to bring continued hot conditions across the region, as the UAE officially enters the summer season in the Northern Hemisphere on June 21.
Residents and visitors are advised to prepare for the intense heat, which is typical for this time of year but nonetheless requires caution and appropriate measures to ensure safety and comfort. Meteorologists warn that these hot conditions are likely to persist, signaling the onset of the hot summer months ahead.
