As the new academic year begins, over 1.2 million students have returned to schools across the United Arab Emirates, welcomed by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. In his address, Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the pivotal role young people play as the “future of the nation” and encouraged them to embrace continuous learning and the development of future-ready skills. He highlighted the importance of utilizing artificial intelligence and technology positively in their educational journey.

Sheikh Mohamed’s message also extended to educators and parents, urging a collaborative effort to foster creativity, lifelong learning, and a strong sense of national identity and values among students. This call for cooperation comes as a response to the significant disruptions experienced during the previous school year, aiming to ensure a smoother and more productive academic year ahead.

Across the UAE, over 1,180 public and private schools have reopened their doors, alongside several new institutions, reflecting the country’s expanding education sector. The reopening marks a fresh start for students and staff alike, as they adapt to new challenges and opportunities in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.

Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also extended his welcome to students embarking on the new academic year. He encouraged them to pursue their ambitions and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute to the UAE’s future. His message aligns with the broader national vision of empowering the youth to drive progress and innovation in the country.
